Dr. Sunita Koul

Dr Sunita Koul completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa (Des Moines). Right after her residency she started working as a Hospitalist in Aurora, IL. In the intense environment of a hospital, Dr Koul routinely was involved in care and treatment of acutely sick patients with complex medical issues. She emphasized on direct communication with her patients and handled sensitive interactions with patients and their families.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Koul was directly involved in providing care to patients diagnosed with moderate to severe COVID-19 sickness in the hospital. Dr. Koul also volunteered to provide Telehealth consultations to affected patients, not only locally but also overseas during the peak crisis.

Before completing her residency in Internal Medicine, Dr Koul also completed her residency in Ob/Gyn from GMC Jammu, India, and her Masters in Public Health from Benedictine University, Lisle, IL

Dr Koul believes in addressing health inequalities in our healthcare system.
She believes the most important part of treating a patient is two-way communication and holistic approach to health.

Most patients who have been under care of Dr Koul at the hospital remember her, even after leaving the hospital, for the quality of care they received.
With insistence from her patients from the hospital, combined with Dr Koul’s desire to be more accessible to her patients and have a long term relationship of trust and care with them has propelled her to start an outpatient care facility.
